ROLL YOUR OWN brand tobacco, the ROLL YOUR OWN educational program
If you want to smoke less and eventually quit smoking, take the time to roll your own cigarettes. It's too easy to whip a cigarette out of the pack and flick a lighter. Hold that paper and put in the tobacco, roll it up - enjoy it until you quit.

We will be adding information as we go. You are welcome to e-mail us your own success or failure stories in your quest to stop smoking. (We will print your stories, with your permission.) We hope to help the public - both young and old - through the experiences of others, our suggestions, and printed materials.

-Children of smokers are exposd to second-hand smoke increasing their risk of developing ear infections, pneumonia and bronchitis.
-Smoking has been shown to decrease fertility in those attempting pregnancy and increases the chance of miscarriage.
-Tobacco used during pregnancy may adversely affect the long-term physical growth and intellectual development of the child.
-Depression is twice as common among those who smoke than in people who have never smoked.
HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS TO HELP YOU KICK THE SMOKING HABIT
-COLD TURKEY - The most popular method to quit smoking, Simply plan a quit day and then quit all-or-nothing on that date.
-GROUP CESSATION CLINICS - There's nothing more tried and proven than group smoking cessation clinics. These programs are offered by many hospitals and by many worksites, as well as by voluntary agencies such as the American Lung Association's "Freedom From Smoking" clinics. This group approach offers smokers the added benefit of an experienced counselor - the clinic leader- as well as support from a group of peers who are all facing the same problem.
-ELIMINATING URGES - ELIMINATING CUES - All day long many cues tell you it's time to smoke, for example, the first cup of coffee in the morning or relaxing after dinner. Eliminate the cue and you eliminate the urge to smoke.
-NICOTINE REPLACEMENT THERAPY - You must quit smoking completely, otherwiae you may overdose. Using nicotine gum or the nicotine patch immediately after quitting smoking relieves withdrawal symtoms that a smoker may feel after quitting.
-ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE - Hypnosis and accupuncture are aids to quit smoking. They are no magic solution that can be used alone, but rather as a part of a systematic quit-smoking program.
-NICOTINE FADING - Reduce your nicotine dose slowly over one to two weeks but still smoke the same number of cigarettes. Do this by switching to brands with lower nicotine levels. Bring down your nicotine level before you quit. If you smoke a high nicotine brand, switch to medium; medium to low. If you already smoke a low brand, switch to another brand. Never switch from high to low directly. Don't smoke more cigarettes; don't inhale more often or more deeply. Nicotine fading is a temporary measure - now quit smoking.
-CONTROLLED SMOKING - If your a health-concerned smoker unwilling or unable to quit right now, you can take steps to reduce health hazards with controlled smoking. Over a period of weeks gradually reduce the number of cigarettes smoked per day and the way you smoke them by not modifying your inhaling pattern to obtain more nicotine. Switch brands with less nicotine, and reduce the percentage of cigarette smoked. The ultimate goal is to stop altogether. Now quit smoking.
The ROLL YOUR OWN educational program - Our suggestion as a first step to kick the habit is to take the time to roll your own cigarettes. ROLL YOUR OWN (TM) brand tobacco has no added nicotine, thereby decreasing your nicotine intake. The time and effort to roll your own cigarette gives you time to think - DO I REALLY NEED THIS CIGARETTE? Flicking a ready-made cigarette out of the pack makes them too easily accessible. Make rolling your own cigarettes your first step in kicking the nicotine habit.
